Paula Morelenbaum

PM 08 2.1 MBOne of Brazil’s finest and most celebrated singers, Paula Morelenbaum has worked for ten years with Antonio Carlos Jobim in his brilliant “Nova Banda”. After its dissolution Paula
continued to explore Jobim’s musical legacy. Her career gained international recognition with the highly acclaimed trio Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto, teaming with her husband Jaques and Japanese composer/pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto. The group’s 2001 debut “Casa”, earned them plaudits from music critics throughout the world. Her 2004 solo album „Berimbaum“, a tribute to the ‘poet of Bossa Nova’, Vinicius de Moraes, is framed within a modern, electroacoustic concept. In 2009 she released her Latin Grammy awarded album “Telecoteco” with Brazilian songs of the 40s and 50s and in 2010 „ Paula & Donato – Agua “ together with Brazil´s piano legend João Donato.
